2025 marks our 70th anniversary of serving the wonderful community of St. Thomas and surrounding area, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! This incredible milestone is made possible by the unwavering support of our loyal customers over the years. To celebrate, we have exciting events and savings planned this season.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Celebration Weekend this past May! We’re thrilled to announce our three lucky giveaway winners, including our Grand Prize winner, Linda B. As part of her prize, Linda selected Hospice of Elgin to receive a $700 donation. Canadale Nurseries made this contribution on her behalf on May 29th in honour of her thoughtful choice. Thank you again to all who came out to celebrate with us and made the weekend so special!

Our Story

Proudly Serving St. Thomas & the Surrounding Area

Canadale Nurseries has a rich history that began with a dream. In 1950, Bill and Joan Intven sailed across the Atlantic with just $300 and a year’s supply of food and clothing to start a new life in Canada. Bill’s dream was to own his own nursery, inspired by his mother’s teachings in her garden in Holland.

After spending a year at the largest nursery in Canada and working a factory job to support his family, Bill spent his spare time preparing for the day when he could have his own nursery.

Today, our garden centre is a testament to Bill and Joan’s hard work and dedication, and we’re proud to carry on their legacy by providing high-quality plants and gardening supplies to our customers.
