About the Artist: Mary Intven Wallace

Exploring the natural beauty of Elgin County is how Mary spent her growing up years. After a half century of making meaning through art, her enthusiasm for our landscape continues to flourish. She paints in her St. Thomas studio and Algonquin summer place. Her paintings invite you to remember our intimate connection with Mother Nature. Mary’s landscapes brighten the walls of galleries across Canada, many private collections, and are also featured in her published books which have won awards such as the International White Raven Award and the National Outdoor Book Award. Mary is a longstanding Haliburton School of Art and Design faculty member. She is honoured by Western University’s Award for Excellence in Education and CSEA’s Excellence in Canadian Art Education Award, as well as the 2017 the YMCA of Western Ontario ‘Woman of Excellence’ in the Arts, Culture, Education & Training.
